Job Description:

Continuous Vulcanization and Vertical Continuous Vulcanization are processes that extrude a total of 3 insulation material onto the strand as required by the product design

Brief Summary of Essential Duties:

Regular and predictable attendance throughout the shift is an essential function of this positionAbility to utilize SOP’s, TI’s, and CDA’s as resource documentsAbility to understand the concept of the line and produce quality cable with miminal scrapAbility to completely and efficiently change machine from one product to anotherAbility to do troubleshooting of the equipment to minimize downtimeAbility to operate the continuous vulcanization process; steam line, extuder, seal boxes, welders, gears, take-ups, pay offs, printersAbility to utilize measuring equipment-including but not limited to OD tapes, calipers, micrometers, electronic measering equipmentAbility to preform mathematical calulations and mearsuementsAbility to operate forklifts carrying up to 30,000 lbs of material

Expectations:

Abide by all rules and proceduresMaintain clean work areaMake safety first priorityReport all safety incidents or issues immediatelyPerform Any /All assigned tasks by supervisorSustain a shop floor enviroment with operators helping each other

Specific Skills/Training Required

On shop floor Maximo trainingOn shop floor basic computer training –including but not limited to SAP, MDC, DCS Viewer

Education:

Required High School/GED Diploma

Experience:

Previous manufacturing experience running a continuous line

Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements:

Safety shoes and glasses required when working in the production areasHearing Protection required in posted areasAbility to stand 8-12 hoursAbility to bend/stoop to floor level 30 times in 8 - hour shiftAbility to push/roll reels weighing 115-1000lbs as required with assistance when neededAbility to climb 2 flights of stairs 4-8 times in 8-hour shiftAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to differentiate colors
