As a key member of Logan Health's elite CVOR team, you’ll have the opportunity to directly impact patients' lives by assisting in advanced cardiovascular procedures like open heart cases, such as Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts (CABG), and valve replacements.

• Play a critical role in preoperative patient management, working closely with healthcare providers to deliver top-tier patient care.
• Showcase your proficiency in multiple service lines, bringing your experience to challenging, high-stakes cardiovascular surgeries.
What We’re Looking For:
• Graduates of approved Surgical Technologist programs or military training with First Assist certification.
• Surgical Technologists with a minimum of two years of scrub or first assist experience, and proficiency in CVOR procedures.
• Team players with excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved school of Operating Room Technicians or military trained required.Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologist (AST) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required.Graduate of a First Assistant (FA) program required.Minimum of two (2) years’ scrub and/or first assistant experience required. Proficient in multiple service lines required. Must possess CVOR first assist experience in CABG, TAVR and Valves.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.Possess strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task in an ever changing workload environment.Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.Job Specific Duties:
Participates and actively assists the surgeon in the performance of surgical procedures. Assists with preoperative patient management in collaboration with health care providers. Performs preoperative evaluation and focused nursing assessments. Works in collaboration with other health care providers regarding the patient plan of care.Provides surgical exposure accurately and appropriately for specific surgical procedures.Provides hemostasis accurately and appropriately for specific surgical procedures. Performs skills involving bone (i.e. drills, pins, saw) in orthopedics as directed by the surgeon.Provides wound closure. To include, but may not be limited to; knot tying, wound approximation, subcuticular closure, skin closure, securing drains.Assists at the end of the procedure by stabilizing the drain with suture appropriately.Exhibits a commitment to professionalism while undertaking and completing all departmental competencies. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures and regulatory requirements and professional practice standards for the position.Proficiently assists in CABG, TAVR, and Valves.The above essential functions are representative of major duties of positions in this job classification. Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
