Women and minorities are under-represented in this job category and are encouraged to apply. *Specific Job Information:* These regional coordinator positions will require some overnight travel and weekend work. Must possess a number of skills that are both technical and interpersonal. Good communication and leadership skills are needed for interacting effectively with staff, sportsmen, landowners and other stakeholders regarding issues related to CWD. The incumbent will need to be effective at time management and at times will be required to work in inclement weather, rough terrain, and around offensive sights and odors. Very long workdays may sometimes be required. *Job Duties:* This position is responsible for all CWD sampling operations in each region as well as coordinating all field logistics and surveillance efforts to ensure a successful CWD sampling season. This position serves as the CWD Program’s Liaison to FWP staff and public in their Region. This position will act as a lead technician for up to 6 field technicians who will arrive in each region prior to the start of the general hunting season. This position will also organize the distribution of CWD-related educational materials to various groups/locations and lead educational outreach with hunters and members of the public. In addition, this position will serve as the primary CWD sample collector for their assigned region during the Archery season. *Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):* The knowledge, skills, and abilities of this position are normally attained through combination of education and experience equivalent to a minimum of two years of college work towards a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology, fish and wildlife management, animal ecology, biology, or a closely related field and related work experience. Supervisory experience is preferred. Combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
