The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

 

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM.  SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

 

We have an immediate need for a Cyber Operations Tech SETA to provide onsite support out of Arlington, VA at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

Responsibilities

The candidate will provide cyber operations, exploitation, and telecommunications expertise to help DARPA identify and implement compelling artificial intelligence and machine learning-based solutions in the telecommunications and high-speed data processing realms. Responsibilities include assisting with strategic coordination of deeply technical cyber efforts from the ground-up/field work through implementation. Support spans through technology transition and research management of programs in software program analysis, computer network defense, computer network exploitation, and/or computer network attack. The candidate will provide software emulation, software vulnerability research, computer program analysis, and reverse engineering expertise in support of cybersecurity and/or cyberspace operations automation. Support work to include creation and presentation/briefing of analytic products and technical solutions before stakeholders with deep coding and technical expertise. Contribute significantly across a range of technical areas by identifying and monitoring ongoing cyber threats through open source and internal data analysis. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications

Required:

5+ years of experience with cyber operations, telecommunications, exploitation, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and high-speed data processingExperience with leading testing and evaluation of Department of Defense applied research and advanced technology development of cybersecurity technologies and/or prototypes in an operationally relevant environmentExperience gathering and interpreting information from sensitive platforms for intelligence collection, risk assessment, and reporting
Experience with supporting DoD research programs in terms of technology management, engagement with research performers, deliverable review, and leading regular communications and meetings with research performers on a deeply technical basisExperience involving direct engagement with government transition partners (within the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community) and related stakeholders
BS degree or higher in computer science, engineering, information, or mathematics related fieldsActive Top Secret/SCI clearance
