THE WORK:
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems has an opportunity in Charleston, SC for a Lead Cyber Engineer supporting the National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC). As an experienced hire on our engineering team, you can help us take on the world’s most important and complex challenges by providing solutions to a variety of technical problems by applying extensive technical expertise to develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. In this important role will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals and interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking
Responsibilities include:
• This position is responsible for technical performance, engineering costs, and schedules, and serves as the Contractor's primary technical spokesperson for projects and/or programs.
• Provides technical leadership for day-to-day operations. Responsible for providing planning, direction and coordination of all engineering efforts. Supports design reviews. Maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies, design and analysis methodologies, and develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.
• Advises management and customers on operations and research studies and applications, including technology assessments, schedule, budget development to complete projects, and delivers results to customers.
• Advises the Event Directors and Event Designers on capabilities to meet test/training event requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in computer science; or a focus in computer and information sciences, engineering, mathematics, management information systems, cybersecurity, or a related discipline with corresponding experience and demonstrated mastery of relevant computer science topics.
• Direct experience with software development and requirements management.
• Proven experience leading teams to develop new and existing products, solutions, and processes.
• Experience with project logistics by managing and balancing project resources across multiple competing priorities, including securing adequate resources needed for teams to meet schedule.
• Communicates effectively, accurately conveys project status, and able to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to express technical ideas to senior decision makers
• Experience working government programs with controlled engineering baselines.
• Intermediate knowledge of cyber security, including common risks to IT systems.
• Intermediate knowledge of enterprise IT concepts, architectures, and systems (compute, network, storage)
• Basic knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.
• Intermediate knowledge of computer networking.
• Familiarity with cyber range tools, including deployment automation, configuration automation, monitoring, and traffic generation.
• Experience managing a data center of similar or larger scale.
• Intermediate knowledge of IT Service Management best practices.
Desired Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of IT Service Management best practices
