Cyber Security Engineer

What success looks like in this role:

Implement, configure, manage, and monitor client security tools including HSMs, PAM, SIEM and Firewall solutions ensuring ongoing operational effectiveness and compliance.

Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and address potential risks and weaknesses.

Review existing client IT Platforms and provide technical guidance on enhancing and ensuring the ongoing security of infrastructure and related services.

Monitoring security systems, tools, and logs to detect and respond to security incidents and anomalies.

Analyzing security incidents and breaches, conducting root cause analysis, and proposing remediation strategies.

Reviewing and updating IT security policies and procedures to ensure they align to our client’s security requirements as well as industry standards and best practices.

Mentor IT Operations staff in areas of security fundamentals and assist in developing and maintaining a roadmap to enhance and progress their knowledge base.

Maintain up to date technical knowledge of modern security threats, tooling and best practices related to information security.

Automation of processes and procedures related to the management of IT Security Infrastructure and services.

Adhere to incident, problem, and change management processes.

Ensure ITIL practices are followed.

Ensure compliance training is completed.

Ensure best practice security and configuration is applied to all activities.

Ensure that all deliverables are completed accurately and on time.

Perform RCA of incidents and work towards permanent resolution.

Technical documentation of all processes and procedures in Confluence.

On call and afterhours work will be required.

Financial Services experience will be preferred.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, or other relevant industry qualifications.

Demonstrated deep subject matter expertise in 1 or more of the cyber security products/offerings (SME)

Experience leading cyber security teams

Demonstrable experience of working in complex and diverse technology environments, preferably in the Financial Sector.

Demonstrated experience with implementing, configuring, and managing security tooling including SIEM and PAM, preferably LogRythm, Delina and CyberArk across an enterprise providing resilient and highly available solutions.

Expertise in implementing, configuring, and managing HSMs, preferably Entrust or Thales.

Demonstrated experience with implementing, configuring, and managing Firewalls preferably Fortinet.

Experience and solid understanding of cyber security practices and compliance requirements, in particular across the banking and finance sectors.

Must show initiative, be driven, can forward plan and think bigger picture.

Must have excellent time management and prioritization skills.
