Description Robert Half is hiring! We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our team located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be tasked with the protection of network systems, server, workstation, and IoT devices from cyber threats. You will also be responsible for conducting audits and scans, maintaining cybersecurity knowledge and developing new defensive protocols, managing security tools, and leading employee training on cybersecurity.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor network, server, workstation, and IoT devices to protect against cyberattacks and execute defensive protocols when a breach occurs. • Regularly conduct audits and scans of network and servers to identify potential security vulnerabilities and violations. • Stay abreast of current cybercrime tactics and develop new protocols and layers of protection to stay ahead of potential threats. • Implement changes to enhance the overall IT security posture in line with industry best practices. • Manage and configure security tools and maintain incident response processes and procedures. • Develop and update business continuity and disaster recovery protocols. • Complete industry-standard questionnaires and surveys to assess the company's overall cybersecurity position and coordinate with IT staff to remedy deficiencies. • Lead employee training programs to prevent phishing and other forms of cyberattacks. • Prepare investigation reports that document security concerns and/or violations. • Provide recommendations to protect sensitive company and customer information.
Skills required:
• Knowledge and experience in Checkpoint, Firewall Technologies, Configuration Management, and Cyber Security. Requirements
• Must have a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience in the utilities/infrastructure industry.
• Proficiency in Checkpoint and Firewall Technologies.
• Experience in Configuration Management is required.
• Solid understanding and experience in Cyber Security.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and risk management methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Must have a strong ethical framework and detail oriented integrity.
