About this opportunity:
We are looking for a dynamic Senior Global Industrial Cybersecurity Practice Lead, to lead our Cybersecurity Practice in our Critical Infrastructure Defense Center (CIDC) in Fredericton, NB, Canada. In this role, you will lead our CIDC team as a line manager, and ensure success of your team and business, by growing a team of analysts and consultants ready to deliver cybersecurity services for customers in Canada and globally.
A strong technical background in industrial cybersecurity (ideally in Energy), in security risk assessments / audits based on industrial cybersecurity standards and best practices, and a passion to improve and grow a cybersecurity team and its service portfolio and win and deliver challenging projects will help you succeed in this role!
What will you do?
Assess and document organizational and technical risks arising from gaps in compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards, such as NERC CIP, IEC62443, ISO27001, and NIST CSF. Recommend actionable mitigating activities based on strong technical expertise and support the implementation of the designed action plans. Moreover, you will be supporting Siemens customers developing strategies to increase organizational maturity in industrial cybersecurity. Last, you will use your expertise to support pre-sales and sales activities of the CIDC in Canada and beyond the role of a technical subject matter expert (SME). Our goal is to deliver cybersecurity consulting with exceptional quality and based on a deep understanding of critical infrastructure technology and environments, in industries that are at the heart of Siemens’ broad portfolio.
Responsibilities:
People Leadership: Lead a team of 5 cybersecurity experts with the goal to grow the business and the team quickly, in the role of line manager, including financial and staff planning and controlling. Operations: Define, maintain, and improve the portfolio of your service delivery team in the areas of Managed Security Services (especially Managed Detection and Response (MDR)), as well as a broad portfolio of cybersecurity consulting services for industrial customers and environments. Business Development & Support: Support our sales team as a key subject matter expert in their cybersecurity services pre-sales / sales activities, via lead qualification, writing technical proposals, and advancing our capabilities and efficiency to respond to and win standard and non-standard cybersecurity projects. Provide training and collaterals for the sales team to ensure their success. Subject Matter Expert: Support challenging cybersecurity consulting projects as a senior key expert, and trusted customer partner. Act as escalation instance for all customer issues in projects. Delivery & Execution: Ensure delivery of customer projects by your team and yourself in time and budget and with attention on exceptional quality and high customer satisfaction via proper resource allocation, training and capability growth, capacity growth, partnering, standardization of approaches using templates and processes to improve efficiency and quality, and via ensuring a customer centric mindset. Customer Relations: Work with Siemens customers to understand and analyze their cybersecurity challenges and general maturity, conduct risk assessments and organizational readiness assessments, and report on existing risk and gaps in cybersecurity strategy of Siemens customers, and advise and implement mitigations and strategic direction, based on extensive technical expertise. Strategy & Solutions: Ensure comprehensive market understanding exists in your team to enable your consultants to find and match existing technical solutions and capabilities in a vendor agnostic fashion to select the best possible solution for your customer. Ambassador: Represent the CIDC towards customers, within Siemens, and towards the global cybersecurity community, e.g., at fairs, conferences, and workshops.LOCATION – Our Cyber Center office is based Fredericton, New Brunswick. This is a hybrid role that could be based out of one of our following office locations: Fredericton NB, Vancouver / Richmond BC, Calgary AB, or Oakville / Toronto ON.
What will you need to succeed?
Sc. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant field required. 7-10+ years of experience as a senior cybersecurity consultant or other relevant industrial cybersecurity experience (e.g., a CISO position); relevant experience in standards compliance gap assessments required, Operation Technology (OT) / Industrial Security expertise preferred. Excellent up-to-date technical and hands-on knowledge in current attack methods and in mitigating cybersecurity risk. Previous line and people management experience, and project and/or program management experience. You need to be a consultant at heart, driven by a desire to find the best possible solution for your customer’s challenges, based on existing approaches and technology, and with the creativity and excitement needed to spot and address hard problems. You need to be a successful networker to build relationships within the company and act as a gateway to a multitude of internal capabilities, tools, and capacity; able to connect the dots and identify synergies, redundancy, as well as the best teams and technology to tackle customer challenges. Be a problem solver who sees a roadblock and figures out how to navigate it with a strong hands-on and can-do attitude. Must be willing to accept accountability and responsibility for your practice and have a strong growth mindset. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Ability to generate high quality reports and presentations.
