We are seeking a cleared or clearable Cyber Systems Engineering Section Manager for a critical role in our engineering organization to be responsible for managing a team and ensuring successful completion of projects.
This is a dual role position, involving direct management and leadership of a team of highly skilled technical professionals supporting cutting-edge defense and security systems. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with functional people management, contributing directly to mission-critical programs while developing and supporting engineering talent.
We prefer candidates with experience in multiple relevant technology areas, such as CI/CD Pipeline, DevOps, and Networking. Ideal candidates for this position have extensive breadth and depth of knowledge in multiple aspects of engineering and IT. Less experienced candidates that demonstrate high technological aptitude with a willingness and desire to learn are equally qualified for this position.
Your direct management responsibilities will include (~20% of your time):
Managing and guiding cyber systems engineers including IT and software professionalsSetting objectives and then monitoring and reviewing yearly progress for your teamBeing responsible and accountable for managing the workload of your direct reportsRecruiting, interviewing, and hiring top engineering talentProviding timely, constructive support and feedback to your reports on a regular basisCompleting performance assessments of your team membersMotivating your team members (engagement) and meeting with them regularlyProviding mentoring and career development to each team memberCoordinating training for each team memberProviding appropriate tools and resources for your team’s development activitiesYour technical program support duties will include (~80% of your time):
Leadership of engineering teams in the design, integration, and maintenance of enterprise-level cyber systems.Program staffing for optimal executionTechnical direction, guidance, and mentoring of project team membersWorking programs, proposals, and internally funded activities in a technical or leadership roleRisk-mitigation planning and executionStrategic problem solvingEarned value managementDrive technical execution using best practices in secure development, automation, and network design.Contribute to DevOps strategy and process improvement initiatives across environments.Manage Cost Account Management (CAM) and Risk Management activities, where applicable.Collaborate with peers and leadership to ensure optimized resource allocation and mission alignment.Support deployment pipelines using the Atlassian suite and other CI/CD toolsets.Automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency through scripting and scheduling tools.

Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $202,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
