CYBER TRANSPORT NETWORK ENGINEER
Overview We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Transport Network Engineer to join our team. This position will require a strong understanding of both network infrastructure and cybersecurity in complex environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, configuration, operation, and defense of network systems and transport devices, including satellite, encryption, and radio frequency-based communication technologies. The engineer will also oversee the integration and improvement of these systems, ensuring optimal performance and security in both fixed and deployed environments. Essential Job Duties Network Design & Integration: Perform, coordinate, integrate, and supervise network design, configuration, operation, defense, restoration, and improvements for a variety of network systems, including wired and wireless communications, radio frequency, satellite, and encryption transmission devices in both fixed and deployed environments. Performance Analysis & Troubleshooting: Analyze network capabilities and performance to identify problems. Recommend corrective actions, perform troubleshooting, and work to restore optimal service in a timely manner. Infrastructure Management: Fabricate, terminate, and interconnect wiring and associated network infrastructure devices, ensuring robust network connectivity and reliability. Transmission Devices & Security: Supervise and perform activities related to radio frequency wireless, line-of-sight, beyond line-of-sight, wideband, and ground-based satellite communications, ensuring that systems are securely implemented and comply with established standards. Compliance & Safety Standards: Develop and enforce safety standards and operational instructions to ensure that network systems meet all safety, security, and compliance guidelines. Network Utilization & Measurement: Review and maintain operational measurement reports, analyze network utilization, and optimize network performance by recommending enhancements and improvements. Communications Security: Apply communications security program requirements, including physical security, cryptographic security, transmission security, and emission security, to ensure data integrity and confidentiality. Equipment Compliance: Ensure all equipment and components meet SABRE SOM installation specifications and applicable network standards. Minimum Requirements 6+ years' experience in all aspects of deployment, sustainment, troubleshooting, and repair of standard voice, data, and video network infrastructure systems. Must possess a Secret government security clearance. Hands on experience with IP detection systems, firewalls, routing, switching, EBGP, IBGP, and secure communication technologies such as HAIPE and TACLANE KG cryptographic equipment. Strong understanding of network security, including the ability to apply security protocols to safeguard data. In-depth knowledge of External Border Gateway Protocol (EBGP), Internal Border Gateway Protocol (IBGP), and High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex network and communication issues. Expertise in applying safety standards, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with communications security requirements. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams, and ensure clear documentation of network configurations, performance, and security protocols.
