Cybersecurity Analyst
Description Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to safeguard our digital assets, protect sensitive data, and identify vulnerabilities in our systems. This role is integral to our organization’s efforts to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats in today’s rapidly changing technology landscape. As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will monitor, analyze, and mitigate security risks, ensuring our systems are protected from breaches and attacks. Key Responsibilities: + Threat Monitoring and Analysis: + Continuously monitor the organization’s networks, systems, and applications for potential security threats or anomalies. + Analyze security incidents and alerts using SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools to assess vulnerabilities and respond to threats. + Incident Response and Resolution: + Act as the first line of response for cybersecurity incidents. + Investigate and contain security breaches or other incidents, identify root causes, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. + System and Network Security: + Ensure the implementation of robust security measures and policies across IT systems, networks, and applications. + Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits. + Data Protection and Compliance: + Develop and implement security protocols and processes to protect sensitive information in accordance with compliance standards such as GDPR, PCI DSS, and others. + Maintain up-to-date documentation on security practices and ensure systems align with industry regulations. + Collaboration and Training: + Partner with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and business units, to ensure security best practices are embedded in processes. + Educate employees on emerging threats, phishing risks, and other cybersecurity practices to foster a security-conscious culture. + Trend and Technology Monitoring: + Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies. + Recommend and incorporate cutting-edge tools and software to strengthen the company’s security posture. Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. + Experience: 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related roles. + Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and best practices, including firewalls, anti-virus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption technologies. + Familiar with security certifications like CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ (Source: SG25 US Technology.docx Context: xTECH, SG25-TREND 5). + Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), firewalls, and endpoint detection. + Knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash is a plus. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
