**OBJECTIVE:** Plans, develops, and implements administrative or technical solutions to increase security and defend against hacking, malware and ransomware, insider threats, and other types of malicious activity. Oversees monitoring of computer systems, identifies security issues, and anticipates security breaches. Executes the installation and maintenance of security programs, plans, and software, including firewalls and endpoint protection programs. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:** 1.Provide information and systems security support to the organization with some supervision. 2.Maintain systems to protect data from unauthorized users and monitors compliance with the organization's information security policies and procedures. 3.Perform daily monitoring activities, including analysis of logs and reports from firewalls and other boundary protection devices to identify and investigate anomalous log entries which impact the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of information systems. 4.Identify vulnerabilities that are applicable to systems and applications to assess their severity and urgency. 5.Work with system administrators and network administrators to track corrective action, resolution progress, and mitigation of vulnerabilities. 6.Maintain, and monitor firewall and network intrusion detection systems. 7.Maintain, and utilize automated vulnerability scanning tools. 8.Support Security Operations Center (SOC) operations on a rotating basis for event and incident response. 9.Participate and manage continuous monitoring / security operation activities. 10.Participate in technical assessment using standard industry tools. 11.Identify and mitigate risks throughout assessments. 12.Participate in security control reviews and provide improvement guidance. 13.Work with users to resolve concerns and explain how to minimize security risks. 14.Respond to security related events and incidents. 15.Create Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) for Cyber tools. 16.Other duties as assigned. **EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, and EXPERIENCE** Education Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, Computer Engineering, System Engineering, or related field. Experience in lieu of education considered. Experience No Minimum of years’ experience, 5 preferred. Licenses Valid Driver’s License Certifications No professional certification required. IT Related Certifications. Preferred such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, Network+, CompTIA A+, CISSP, CompTIA Network **No clearance requirement but the contract and/or the site requires US Citizenship to be approved for access. (includes NACI / T1, MRPT, CAC):** Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
