Job Description

The Cybersecurity Engineer Intern will support the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and information. Additionally, this role involves assisting in the collection, processing, and analysis of data to generate actionable insights. This position offers a valuable opportunity for professional development in the fields of cybersecurity and data analytics, providing hands-on experience for learning and career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, protocols, and procedures.Monitor system security operations and report incidents.Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security measures.Perform data analysis, generate reports and assist in the development of dashboards and visualizations.Identify trends, patterns, and correlations in data sets.Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technology solutions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Business or a related field, with less than 2 years relevant work experience, graduating December 2025 or later.Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or Python and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).Familiarity with network security tools, operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking concepts.Knowledge of database management and automated server patchingStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Attention to detail and a passion for working with data.Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.Understanding of regulatory compliance standardsExperience with machine learning algorithms.

 

Additional Information

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated hourly range for a new hire into this position is $26/hr to $31/hr USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable).  Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.  Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program. 

Work Authorization: Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position. Future sponsorship will not be considered.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
