Description
TriMet’s Cybersecurity team is seeking a summer 2025 Intern to assist with developing and streamlining security operations processes. As an intern you will assist our Cybersecurity team to establish and enhance security operations processes. This internship offers an opportunity to learn about critical infrastructure cybersecurity, working with both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT). This internship provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with tools and strategies used in cybersecurity.
You will be working on tasks such as role-based training, day-to-day management of mobile device endpoint detection and response systems, along with vulnerability management for both IT and OT. Additionally, you will be exposed to specific cybersecurity requirements for select types of federally regulated information. Throughout the internship, you will be able to experience cybersecurity operations that include critical infrastructure and learn about the significant differences between information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) through the cybersecurity lens.
TriMet's Internships are excellent opportunities to build skills, gain experience, develop connections with industry professionals and develop work samples for a portfolio. Relevant experience is useful, but most important is a willingness and excitement to learn.
This Internship is performed in-person. Applicants m ust be available to work in-person in the Portland Metro region of Oregon.

Serve as a good steward of TriMet by regularly utilizing our transit system to maintain a strong and current understanding of customers’ experiences and of TriMet’s product and service offerings.
Essential Functions
1) Attend meetings with business and IT users to help with gathering requirements
2) Document and test new software applications.
3) Develop applications (coding, programming).
4) Assist with researching/evaluating solutions to meet business and IT capabilities
5) Work and collaborate within a team
Position Requirements
+ Must be a current or incoming Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Computer Science. Grads who have completed their degrees in the past 12-month period will also be considered.
Selection Criteria
Type of Position / Grade / FLSA
Non-Exempt, Non-Union, Full-Time (40 hours/week), Temporary. Internships will run May/June through August/September.
Wage
Interns will be paid $21/hour
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based at a minimum on the result of:
