As a Cybersecurity Rotational Associate, you will be part of a fast-paced, dynamic team responsible for safeguarding our virtual environment. You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of concept to deliver against the existing, and future needs of our growing business.

This position is a part of the Staples, Inc. hybrid work model, 3 days in the office and 2 days remote based at the corporate headquarters in Framingham, MA.

Target Start Date: June 9, 2025 

What you’ll be doing:

You will have the opportunity to spend 4, 6-month rotations across Cybersecurity subdisciplines, including:

Threat & Vulnerability ManagementGovernance, Risk & ComplianceApplication SecurityIdentity & Access ManagementProtection Services

Your responsibilities as a rotational associate will vary based on the specific rotation you are in and may involve more advanced work in:

Incident handling (preparation, detection & analysis, remediation, containment & recovery, post-incident review)Configuring alerts/dashboardReporting for bot & web access firewall activityAssisting in the development/refinement of business continuity, emergency readiness & disaster recovery plansCoding & security scanning to ensure protection of company applicationsConsulting with internal customers on general cybersecurity inquiries

What’s needed - Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science/analytics, data security, or related technology fields.Requires a GPA of 3.0 or higher

What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications:

Fundamental understanding of IT & securityOSI modelOperating systems (Linux, Windows, Network)Networking & routing protocols (TCP/IP)Adversary tools, techniques, and proceduresSocial engineering (phishing)Defense-in-depth architectureData, endpoint, network, edge controlsSecurity+, Network+, A+, CCNA related courseworkPassionate about cybersecurity with a basic understanding of cybersecurity principlesSome experience or understanding of agile development methodologiesFamiliar with Azure AD, AWS, or GCPIntroduction and basic understanding of web technologies and concepts, such as, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, XML, C#Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsStrong written/verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal and organization skills, approachable, personableInterface with a variety of customers in a polite, positive, and professional manner
