Cybersecurity Technical Writer

We learn, grow, and achieve more – in our careers and in our communities. **Job Description Summary:** Detail-oriented and experienced Cybersecurity Technical Writer for OhioHealth's Information Security team. This role is responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating comprehensive documentation that supports our cybersecurity compliance efforts with HIPAA, CIS Controls, PCI DSS, and NIST standards. Must have a strong background in technical writing, information security, and regulatory compliance, particularly within the healthcare or regulated industries. You will collaborate with security engineers, risk and compliance analysts, IT operations, and legal teams to ensure documentation accurately reflects current practices, controls, and regulatory obligations. **Responsibilities And Duties:** 40% RESEARCHING/WRITING/EDITING/MAINTAINING Policies, standards, procedures 20% WRITING/DESIGNING Newsletters, SharePoint Cyber Security Awareness page 20% DEVELOPING Training materials 10% COORDINATING Schedule and lead meetings with relevant teams to provide guidance and approval of all writing and development efforts. 10% REPORTING Phishing campaign results, policies and standards tracking Key Responsibilities: Develop, edit, and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with regulatory and framework requirements (HIPAA, CIS Controls, PCI DSS, NIST). Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accurate, and accessible documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. Ensure documentation is up to date with the latest organizational security controls, policies, and processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Security Operations, IT Infrastructure, Legal, Risk, and Compliance to ensure accuracy and completeness. Organize and manage document repositories, ensuring version control and appropriate access via platforms such as SharePoint and ServiceNow. Support internal and external audit preparation by providing required documentation and evidence of security practices. Assist in the development of end-user cybersecurity awareness and training content when needed. **Minimum Qualifications:** Bachelor's Degree: Technology Education **Additional Job Description:** **Required:** + 3–5 years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on cybersecurity or IT. + Demonstrated knowledge of information security concepts, compliance frameworks, and audit processes. + Experience writing documentation in support of HIPAA, NIST, CIS, and/or PCI DSS compliance. + Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. + Familiarity with documentation management tools SharePoint and ServiceNow. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously. + Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. **Preferred:** + Prior experience working in a healthcare or highly regulated environment. + Technical certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISA, or Certified Technical Writer. + Understanding of enterprise security and compliance documentation needs. + Experience working with agile and DevOps teams. **SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE** Working knowledge of ServiceNow document management and SharePoint **Work Shift:** Day **Scheduled Weekly Hours :** 40 **Department** Information Security Join us! ... if your passion is to work in a caring environment ... if you believe that learning is a life-long process ... if you strive for excellence and want to be among the best in the healthcare industry Equal Employment Opportunity OhioHealth is an equal opportunity employer and fully supports and maintains compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations.
