Boulder Community Health is seeking a Cytopreparatpry Technician who is responsible for receiving Cytology samples and performs processing to ensure quality results for accurate diagnosis by Cytologist and/or Pathologist.

Qualifications •High school diploma or equivalent. •At least 1 year of laboratory experience in a clinical setting, preferred
Responsibilities •Accessions and processes Gynecologic and Non-Gynecologic specimens for microscopic evaluation. This includes assigning accession numbers, Thin Prep Processing, operating the strainers (manual or automated), changing reagents, and cover slipping. •Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance. •Maintain, organize inventory and request laboratory supplies. •Dispose and label biohazard waste appropriately. •Provide support with various administrative tasks and handle phone inquiries. •Report patient safety issues and specimen deficiencies. •Prepare and send out selected samples for ancillary testing. •Maintains specimen identification and integrity throughout all processes of the department. •Able to differentiate acceptable and unacceptable processing and staining of specimens. •Responsible for completion of all quality control, safety, and preventative maintenance logs on a daily basis. •Must begin and complete all assignments with minimal supervision. •Must be able to collaborate with other departments and colleagues for problem solving. •Perform all clerical and computer tasks necessary to support the quality operation of the department.
