Cyto Tech

Day Shift, Full Time

Must have extensive knowledge in preparing, staining, and evaluating gynecological and non-gynecological material including fine needle aspirations. Demonstrates competency in assessing all material with a high level of accuracy. Shows good judgment with attention to details as well as respect patient confidentiality. Works professionally and courteously with physicians, patients, guests, and other employees.

Job Duties

Assists with processing of specimens collected in CT scan as required.Performs routine microscopic evaluation of cytologic smears and cell blocksCompletely and correctly screens and interprets cytologic specimensPerforms clerical duties including entering data into computers, answering phones and distributing reportsPerforms operation and maintenance of the microscope, centrifuge, cytocentrifuge and all chemical reagents

Requirements

No experience requiredBachelor's degree in Cytology requiredCertification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) is required
