Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cytotechnologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for screening gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytologic specimens, collaborating with pathologists, and ensuring adherence to quality assurance and regulatory standards. You will also process cytologic materials for evaluation, participate in proficiency surveys, and contribute to maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Job Responsibilities

Cytologic Screening: Screens gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytologic material, reviewing all non-gynecologic and atypical/abnormal gynecologic specimens with pathologists.Specimen Processing: Processes cytologic material for evaluation by cytotechnologists and pathologists in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, as needed.Quality Assurance: Adheres to departmental QA/QC standards, including submitting a random 10% of all negative gynecologic cases for peer review.Collaboration: Maintains an effective working relationship with pathologists to ensure quality and accuracy.Proficiency Testing: Participates in proficiency surveys and successfully completes federally mandated annual PT examinations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or a science field from an accredited institution.Must meet CLIA eligibility requirements for High Complexity Testing.Certification in Cytology (CT) by ASCP or IAC required.Minimum of 3 years of cytology experience preferred.
