Dangerous Goods Training Instructor (Driver Trainer)  is responsible for delivering continuous safety and operational improvements through various training programs with our driver teams, creating and demonstrating a best in class safety culture, and embracing Air Products core safety values, being the safest gas company in the world.  


Regulatory training of mandatory DVSA / SQA accredited training such as ADR and DCPC coupled with Air Products mandatory training will be delivered to all Full time, agency, and contracted employees, therefore previous experience and approval from SQA, DVSA to deliver training of this nature is essential.

This role requires the individuals to articulate a high level of technical knowledge and experience as a subject matter expert (SME)

NATURE AND SCOPE

The role requires driver trainers to provide subject matter expertise in the form of training and assessment in area’s such as

New employee trainingRegulatory Training (ADR & DCPC)Air Products mandatory training1:1 Competence assessmentGuidance and advise as required in technical expertise

DIMENSIONS:

Distribution operates across a multitude of sites within the UK&I, including Joint ventures or subsidiary companies covering circa 350 employed or contracted drivers

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

This position is accountable for the following end results:

Regulatory training of mandatory accredited training such as ADR and DCPC coupled with Air Products mandatory training will be delivered to all Full time, agency, and contracted employees, therefore previous experience and approval from SQA, DVSA to deliver training of this nature is essential.

Adherence to all safety rules, processes, and procedures, as safety is a condition of employment.

Maintain, develop, and apply knowledge of relevant procedures within our distribution organisation

Deliver training in line with Air Products timelines and policies, including new driver induction training  

Assist Distribution teams in identifying high risk drivers

Coach and build training plans

Work cross functionally with other departments to correct issues or identify safety concerns relating to customer installations

Support driver teams with knowledge of processes as a subject matter expert

Provide safe support and assistance to colleagues while being accountable for your own performance 

Strive to maximize internal and external customer satisfaction

Identifying and supporting programs to improve safety & efficiency in line with business objectives

This role requires substantial traveling within UK ( car provided - essential car user )

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience and qualification to deliver mandatory DVSA / SQA driver CPC and ADR training.Valid (in date) ADR Training Certificate 2,3,8 minimum (refreshed every 5 years)Proven track record of working within a safety-first environmentAble to work under own initiative with excellent communication skillsPrevious experience in classroom training (Preferable)Good time management and the ability to plan and prioritise tasks to meet the demands of multiple requestsProven ability to adapt to changeBe able to work remotely and capable of travel if requiredIT literate with experience of Microsoft Office programs, in particular the ability to use Excel and word is desirableAdministrative skills such as spreadsheets, word documents and use of IT systems
