About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 07 S&P Global Market Intelligence The Role: Translator, Korean The Team: Translations department is part of the Documents & Events domain within the Market Intelligence division at S&P Global. The team is responsible for delivering accurate and timely translated content to internal financial and non-financial data collection teams within the division. It also supports translation requirements for other divisions as well as Corporate, Technology, Legal and News groups within the company Work schedule (Time shift): Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm The Impact: A Translator is responsible for producing quality translation in the target language to support the company’s strategy in making S&P products available in target regions and industries What’s in it for you: Opportunity to be a part of a large and growing Translations operation with over 400 employees across 5 operating sites, that uses state-of-the-art translation processes and tools to deliver on the needs of internal customers not just within the division but the entire company. Wide exposure to multiple data collection processes with a dependency on translation services within S&P Global Opportunity to work with diverse and multicultural teams working out of Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Beijing, Manila, and Buenos Aires offices to achieve a common set of goals. An insight into our clients and/or C-level executives at companies whose data we cover, collect and present. Responsibilities: Convert (translate/localize) high-level documents in the source language to the target language ( English -> Korean and vice-versa) Relay the style and tone of the original language Quality Assurance of translated and localized materials Creating and maintaining language glossaries, dictionaries, and translation memories utilized for translation, online research of company-related information Drafting of language-specific style guides based on project requirements Understand the working of the data set, be aware of the workflows and have good working knowledge of work tools Deliver on predefined individual and team targets including delivering outcomes with quality and excellence. Stay abreast of updated guidelines and policies Daily reporting of work performed during the day in the reporting tools; fix errors as per quality feedback within specified time and report back after completion Work on new projects as assigned from time to time as per Company requirements Testing new tools, participation in calls and timely and appropriate response to mails from co-workers & Management Team Escalating concerns on time and with correct line of communication Ideate and execute Process improvement and Automation projects Manage work schedule to meet deadlines What We’re Looking For: Basic Qualifications: Minimum B2 level (FCE) or native competency of Korean, and English. Other languages are a plus. Language proficiency certification is desirable. Lack of certification will be replaced with an aptitude test. 3 to 5 years of work experience as a translator/localization specialist Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and Korean. Familiarity with Korean culture and customs, alongside with financial markets Knowledge of Accounting and Financial subject matter, concepts and terms Proven experience of active participation on translation and localization projects particularly related to financial industry/markets Strong translation skills Analytical mindset and strong Logical reasoning Well versed with information research on the internet and Microsoft Office An inquisitive and investigative nature Proactivity, high motivation, positive attitude Ability to interact with many levels and deal with issues in a mature and professional manner (excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication across teams) Ability to work in a Team as well as independently Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and deliver regarding work deadlines, SLA’s, and targets Please apply with your English CV.
