Data Analyst (Benchmarking Compliance)

SUMMARY

The Sustainability Analyst (Managed Alerts) will mine energy and water data from various internal databases, gathering property specific information and data, validating the data, perform various analyses of the data and communicate to Clients and others your results and future action plans. The Analyst will be required to manage multiple projects at once.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Sustainability Analyst (Managed Alerts), you will part of RealPage’s Sustainability team, reporting into our Sustainability Solutions Product Manager. It is essential that Analysts build an understanding of the multifamily and commercial real estate business, particularly as it pertains to utility usage and costs at a level of detail that enables them to identify and address critical issues. The Analyst will be responsible for the following:

Analyze energy consumption and cost data to identify and resolve billing, rate or consumption variances. Review monthly utility related financial reports and provides written variance analysis. Perform utility rate and tariff analysis of energy and water accounts. Develop energy and water related reports and graphs for Client presentations. Communicate with Clients and utility providers for collaboration and research purposes.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

The ideal candidate will possess a Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; 2 years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate must be proficient working with spreadsheets and perform intermediate spreadsheet functions, i.e. pivot tables, lookups and advanced formulae. The candidate should be knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Additionally, the ideal candidate must have strong analytical and decision-making abilities as well as possess the ability to use and interpret large amounts of data as part of the decision-making process. It is desirable for the candidate to have experience with residential multifamily management, knowledge of electric, natural gas and/or water utilities. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills are essential as this position will be interacting with various departments within the company as well as interacting with clients and utility providers both on the phone and via email. The ideal candidate must be highly organized with an attention to details, as well as possess strong presentation skills. The candidate should maintain a positive and professional demeanor and be an independent thinker who can balance the ability to work on their own along with being part of a team. The ability to understand, adapt to and lead change in a business environment is also critical.
