Overview The Data Analyst Lead role specializes in working with large and complex data sets to evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of business strategies. Identifies and compiles data sets using a variety of tools to help predict, improve, and measure the success of key business outcomes. Responsible for performing general analytics and data analysis on existing data sets in various areas of the business. Defines data requirements, data collection, processing, cleaning, analysis, modeling, and visualization. Examines and identifies data patterns and trends to help answer business questions and improve decision-making to increase efficiency and automation. LEAD: Recognized subject matter expert in sub-function typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities typically include: Managing large projects or processes and/or products and systems with limited oversight from management. Coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower-level professionals. Facing IT function-related problems that are difficult and moderately complex. Serving as an expert within own discipline. How you'll make an impact Coordinate with matrixed data organization and serve as conduit between strategic business stakeholders and other data teams. Complete review of programs and analytic reporting to minimize delays, avoid rework, and decrease upfront involvement from developers Monitor report development and provide critical analysis and quality assurance Clearly document requirements, process documents, user guides, and value expected for report development to improve accuracy and time to delivery Determine operational objectives by gathering information, evaluating output requirements and formats Construct quality assurance documentation; report on system capabilities Coordinate a variety of projects/requests simultaneously and ensure timely completion in accordance with business initiatives Research data sources for analytics and reporting of medical information Analyze data, reports, and processes Improve systems by studying current practices and suggesting modifications Recommend controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; recommending actions Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential Traits of a Successful Candidate: Desire to make an impact, manage multiple tasks, and shift priorities quickly Detail-oriented, strong time-management, analytical, and inquisitive Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to interact effectively with different business departments, team members, and external clients at all levels About You 5+ years of experience in data and/or development roles Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures Professional experience in Insurance Industry Knowledge of business data systems #LI-NP1 Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
