Data Analyst (Mandarin Speaking)
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 07 The Team: Market Intelligence, a division of S&P Global, provides high-impact information and workflow solutions to over 4,200 leading financial institutions, advisory firms, and corporations. Transactions team is responsible to do research of mergers, acquisitions, investments, and public offerings of all types of companies globally. The Impact: The role will involve reading market specific news publications. The Data Analyst will translate texts into English and distribute to processing centers. Both the translation and distribution processes are supported by proprietary software packages and tools. They will work closely with colleagues in Manila, India and Pakistan, who are responsible for different aspects of the overall process. Additionally, the role will require daily reporting, timely and appropriate response to mails from co-workers. What’s in it for you: Opportunity to build a career with a global company. Responsibilities: Research, scan, and translate parts of articles/financial documents from Mandarin (and any other language in the candidate’s portfolio) into English. Escalate concerns on time and with correct line of communication. Collaborate across other workflows inside Translations POD team (Fundamentals/Market Data & Private Equity) Work on new projects as assigned from time to time as per Company requirements. What We’re Looking For: Basic Qualifications: Business level proficiency in Mandarin and English. Have a keen interest in translation and an eye for detail. Working Knowledge of Computers and Desktop Applications (Microsoft XP, Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook). Willingness to be cross trained in other workflows upon company requirements. Have an inquisitive and investigative nature. Must be internet savvy. Must be proactive, have high motivation and a positive attitude. Ability to interact with many levels and deal with issues in a mature and professional manner (excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication across teams). Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and deliver in due time to meet deadlines.
