About the Role

The Data Analytics Audit Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting GIA - Philippines become a digitally enabled and data-driven internal audit team providing proactive assurance to management. This role will provide key analytical support to the GIA - Philippines team, enhancing audit efficiency and effectiveness through data analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provide value-adding audit and business insights from data analysis using data analytic tools.

Support ad-hoc or specialised assignments as needed.

Support audit engagements by scripting of data analysis procedures in SQL or Python, focusing on key risks and/or controls specific to the audit processes in scope, and uncovering meaningful insights for the audit team and management.

Work with other team members to plan each audit job efficiently and effectively following the approved annual audit plan and in accordance with the GIA standards from planning to completion.

Prepare the working papers, draft audit reports, and other deliverables to meet internal standards and assignments are completed within budgeted time.

Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Experience/Qualifications

Education – Graduate of BS Accountancy or other course related to the company’s business and operations. Additional course in Computer Science/ Data Analytics or equivalent would be an advantage.

Minimum one year of data analysis and/or programming experience.

Internal/external audit experience in the insurance, financial or a related industry would be an advantage.

Knowledge

Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, data processing, data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI) is essential.

Advanced analytics, such as unsupervised and semi-supervised machine learning to detect unusual or anomalous patterns will be an advantage.

Knowledge of spark/Databricks is preferred.

Strong project management and organisation skills.

Excellent analytical, written/verbal communication, problem solving, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.

Ability to adapt to changes quickly and multi-task.
