Job Title: Fleet Data Analytics Analyst

Job Summary 

 

This position is responsible for detailed data analysis, data requirements, and BI solution development including presentation layer delivery. This also includes increasing data quality, compliance, and governance. Additional responsibilities include consulting with partners on their business needs, translating business needs into analytics/reporting requirements, and interfacing with the partners to build custom business intelligence solutions. The analyst can analyze and troubleshoot issues that arise within BI and analytics toolsets and the enterprise infrastructure supporting these solutions. 

Job Experience & Education 

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Business or another relevant academic discipline. 

Knowledge of Hexagon EAM system.  

Two or more years of professional IT experience preferred. 

Three or more years of database administration or data management experience. 

Experience working in a fast-paced, competitive information technology organization. 

 

Summary of Position Duties and Responsibilities 

 

Create, enhance, and deploy statistical and analytical models using both structured and unstructured data to formulate inform decisions and strategies across Fleet Operations. 

Develop, improve, and implement statistical and analytical models utilizing advanced software. 

Utilize AI-driven platforms to make data-informed decisions.  

Maintain and develop key relationships with internal and external partners related to current and future information systems.  

Provide advanced analytical support and appropriate data to assist Fleet teams in strategy development, cost optimization and process improvement 

Administrative-level owner of the fleet asset management system (Hexagon EAM).   

Subject Matter Expert for advanced data analytics and the Fleet technology infrastructure. 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

 

Strong technical knowledge for data analytic & reporting solutions. Including but not limited to the following: 

SQL Server, Oracle, HDFS (Cloudera Hadoop), and other on-premise and cloud-based data and information management systems 

Advanced Analytics Tools like Azure, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate), Tableau, Excel, etc. 

Geotab, telematics, and predictive maintenance platforms.  

Have demonstrate the ability to deep dive into data to find problems or trends. 

Manage, organize, and clean data effectively and efficiently while reducing manual reporting and data redundancy. 

Highly versed in analytic methodologies and modeling. 

Understand the difference between data and information with the ability to articulate it through verbal and no verbal means. 

Use data visualization skills and tools to analyze, package, and communicate reports to the business partners. 

The ability to demonstrate the integration of heterogeneous data (information silos) under a single query interface. 

A comprehensive knowledge of software, application, data and systems engineering. 

Strong data modeling skills and understanding of data warehouse design techniques 

Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required. 

Partner with business and technology subject matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions. 

The ability to “think big” and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology, data, information & analytics. 

The ability to build a comprehensive understanding of and strategically connect the needs of multiple business areas. 

Excellent written and oral English communication skills with the ability to tailor communication as appropriate for the audience. 

Capable of building productive relationships with teammates and business partners focused on teamwork and cooperation. 

Excellent organization and time management skills, and capable of managing time and priorities so as to effectively respond to emerging needs and meet upcoming deadlines and commitments.
