Data Analytics Intern - Summer 2025

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Applies a data driven approach with analytical rigor to deliver actionable intelligence to stakeholders including reports, visualizations and analyses 

Supports the end to end analytics workflow from requirements gathering, development, QA and final delivery of data products and data assets 

Creates sustainable data products by automating data transformation and delivering Power BI dashboards 

Supports the finance team's delivery of monthly and ad-hoc financial and operations reporting 

Deliver quality results in a collaborative work environment by utilizing agile project methods and utilizing software tools like version control systems, documentation control and project tracking systems 

Performs other duties as assigned 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

Advanced Microsoft Office skills; specifically Excel 

Familiarity with Tableau or Microsoft Power BI 

Programming skills in R or Python 

Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques 

Familiarity with corporate financial statements and basic accounting methods 

Proficient in data wrangling techniques using tools using SQL and similar tools 

Experience with code repository tools and agile development methodology 

 

EDUCATION 

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or related area.  

Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale 

Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration skills 

Strong communication skills including the ability to translate and generalize technical jargon 

Appetite to continually learn new skills, methods and technologies  

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS 

Ability to work onsite at our Indianapolis Headquarters location, unless otherwise directed by hiring manager 

Ability to work up to 40 hours per week with a minimum of 20 hours for spring and fall interns 

Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship  

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. 

 

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Able to read and interpret technical, regulatory and contractual documentation.  Able to maintain confidentiality. 

 

DECISION MAKING  

Makes day to day decisions used to support strategic direction.  Decisions often require some thought without established precedents or procedures.  Decisions tend to be short term and usually of moderate cost.  Able to work independently or as part of a team to drive results.
