Purpose of the Role: The Data and Analytics Director will drive improved decision-making across the Minerals Executive Team and their business areas through strategic data and analytics leadership and support. This role will lead the Divisional Data Governance and Business Intelligence Teams, ensuring customer prioritization and capacity considerations are addressed through big data analytics and the development of standardized global data governance processes. Additionally, the Director will provide leadership within the IT function to enhance data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership in data and analytics to support the Executive Team and business areas in making informed decisions.
Data Governance: Lead the Divisional Data Governance Team to develop and implement standardized global data governance processes.
Enterprise Performance Management: Oversee the Enterprise Performance Management Team to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Big Data Analytics: Utilize big data analytics to address customer prioritization and capacity considerations, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
IT Leadership: Collaborate with the IT function to enhance data infrastructure and ensure seamless integration of data analytics tools and processes.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytical solutions.
Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor performance metrics to measure the impact of data and analytics initiatives on business outcomes.
Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement in data and analytics practices, staying abreast of industry trends and advancements.
Job Knowledge and Education Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus..
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in data and analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in big data analytics tools and platforms, data governance frameworks, and enterprise performance management systems.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industry trends and best practices in data and analytics.
