Data and Analytics Lead Architect

Civeo is in the beginning stages of transitioning to a data driven business model. The Data and Analytics Architect is tasked to help Civeo mature in this space through leading the design, creation, development, and management of our data architecture and analytics strategies. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data systems support business objectives and provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses a robust technical background in data architecture and analytics, combined with a natural ability to guide and influence teams towards success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Architecture and Management Design and implement comprehensive data architecture solutions that align with business needs. Oversee the development and maintenance of data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage solutions. Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through effective governance practices. Data Analytics and Reporting Develop and implement advanced analytics solutions, including machine learning models and predictive analytics. Collaborate with business units to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and reports to track them. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on thorough data analysis. Leadership and Collaboration Guide and mentor data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers. Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration within the team. Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across departments. Strategic Planning and Execution Develop and execute a strategic data roadmap aligned with organizational goals. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation. Identify, prioritize, and manage data initiatives and projects to support business objectives.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data architecture, data analytics, and data management. Demonstrated experience in guiding and leading data teams. Technical Skills Strong proficiency in data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration techniques. Experience with data analytics tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI). Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Understanding of data governance laws in North America and APAC regions Leadership and Interpersonal Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to inspire and motivate a team, driving performance and collaboration. Proven expertise in developing strategies and collaborating with application owners to ensure effective data classification Global approach to solutions Preferred Qualifications Advanced certifications in data management, data analytics, or related fields. Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). General Skills & Abilities Demonstrated project management skills. Self-starter and highly motivated to achieve results. Propensity to innovate and challenge the status quo. Maturity of judgment and on-demand decision making to resolve problems without delay and/or to seek support when required. Demonstrated organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills. Detail oriented, but also able to view a big picture and understand strategic context. Proficient in MS Office products. Ability to work independently and proactively to develop and implement solutions with minimal guidance. Ability to juggle multiple projects & tasks and prioritize and deliver results in the face of competing business interests. Ability to build relationships quickly and work as part of a team. Business acumen – ability to quickly grasp how a process works and leverage that knowledge to drive business results.
