About the role:

At Cognizant, we're seeking an experienced Data Consulting Architect to join our growing Data & AI practice. As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative data solutions across multiple cloud platforms, while also contributing significantly to our presales efforts. You'll have the opportunity to work at the forefront of AI innovation, particularly in the rapidly evolving field of generative AI, helping clients navigate and implement these transformative technologies. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping our clients design and implement scalable, enterprise-grade data architectures that drive business value.

The Consulting Data Architect – Technology Consulting is responsible for:

Lead the technical design and architecture of complex data solutions, ensuring alignment with client business objectives and technical requirements Drive presales activities including solution design, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept development Architect end-to-end data solutions leveraging cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time analytics solutions Design and implement data governance frameworks, security protocols, and compliance measures across enterprise data platforms Develop reference architectures and solution frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple client engagements Provide technical leadership in cloud infrastructure design, focusing on scalability, performance, and cost optimization Create and present technical solutions to C-level executives and technical stakeholders Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to understand requirements and propose appropriate solutions Guide implementation teams on best practices, design patterns, and technical approaches Evaluate emerging AI technologies, particularly in the generative AI space, and provide recommendations for their adoption Design and architect solutions that incorporate generative AI capabilities into enterprise data platforms Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solution feasibility and alignment with client expectations Mentor junior architects and technical team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development

Base capability requirements include:

10+ years of experience in data architecture and solution design, with a strong focus on cloud platforms Deep expertise in Azure and AWS data services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, and related services Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure design principles and implementation experience Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms Expert knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and data security principles Experience with modern data architecture patterns (Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Lambda/Kappa) Strong background in data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and real-time data processing Practical experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala preferred) Experience with various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Graph databases) Strong consulting skills with proven ability to lead client workshops and discovery sessions Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders Required certifications: Azure Data Engineer Associate and/or AWS Data Analytics Specialty Nice to have: Experience with AI/ML platforms, generative AI technologies, and enterprise AI integration patterns
