What's the job?
We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Architect to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and designing scalable and secure Data solutions that align with our business strategy. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that Data is effectively architected, designed and made available across our multiple Data Platforms.
Responsibilities
Create Enterprise Data Reference Architecture and Data Roadmaps aligned to Business Strategy and Enterprise Architecture Principles.Architect and design secure and scalable Data solutions leveraging industry-leading Data frameworks and tools.Architect and design Data Integration Patterns and Frameworks to make data available to consumers in required timeframes.Translate business requirements into technical specifications for Data solutions, Data Integrations and Data Models.Conduct workshops with Business and Technology stakeholders for ideation, business case creation and realisation/socialisation of solutionsOversee the development, testing and deployment of Data solutions.Support the monitoring and maintenance of existing Data solutions, optimising performance and addressing potential issues.Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in Data and Information Architecture.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.Create and document technical specifications and design decisions.Who are you?Proven experience specifying modern data architectures, frameworks and models that address business needs while balancing cost, capability, and risk.Strong understanding of the value proposition associated with Data and Information Architecture.Experience architecting and overseeing the implementation of modern data architectures: Data Hub / Data Fabric / Data Mesh / LakeHouseExpertise in architecting, designing and overseeing the implementation of cloud data platforms, including GCP and AWS.Data Integration experience spanning Streaming to Batch from both a tooling and frameworks perspective. Establishing standards, best practices, and guidelines for data extraction, transformation and consumption to ensure data uniformity across the enterprise.Expertise in Architecting and Designing for various data platforms, including DataLake, LakeHouse, Warehouse and Operational Data Stores.Ability to review and define Business Glossary and Data Catalog technologies, processes and templates.Experience developing Data Models for projects and programs.Ability to provide design and solution guidance to teams of software developers in the implementation of Data / Integration solutions.Experience working with stakeholders to create technical visions, high-level architectures, and delivery roadmaps for large programsExcellent communication and collaboration skills.Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.News BenefitsNews Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
