Data Associate - Veterinary Software

The Veterinary Software Business Services & Subscription team is looking for a Data Associate to join our growing team to perform data preparation and analysis primarily within the billing or finance space of the business. This team is part of the Veterinary Software Customer Success Operations division, a dynamic group focused on improving the customer experience across all our software solutions from time of sale throughout the customer lifecycle including accurate timely billing.

As the Data Associate, you will provide database and analytical support for various initiatives, projects, and programs. You will perform data analyses using appropriate statistical methods and graphical standards, as well as retrieving and analyzing data and presenting reports to leadership for use in supporting operations and business objectives. You will also make recommendations for improvements, documenting analyses, developing in-depth knowledge of customer information systems, and providing training and support to users. 

The role also involves an element of providing content related to billing or data management to stakeholders, such as for audits or presentations. It includes resolving issues, ensuring customer satisfaction, and addressing inquiries from both internal and external customers as needed. 

In this role, you will:

Perform various support activities for multiple initiatives, projects, and programs to meet the data needs of the business.  

Retrieve and analyze data and present reports to leadership for use in supporting operations and business objectives.  

Ensure compliance with audit standards and financial guidelines.  

Provide data support and analytics of product pricing management on an annual or bi-annual basis.  

Identify, address, and solve data-related issues. 

Understand informational needs, build spreadsheets, and run reports from databases, management systems, and other sources. 

Make changes to spreadsheets and databases as needed, such as modifying report formats, refreshing data, reformatting information and other activities. 

Research and locate information sources, setting up data feeds and other connections as needed. 

Support program level system or process changes through data consulting or preparation.  

Collaborate with leadership and internal stakeholders on billing process design for new products, and process workflow improvements for software products and team(s).  

Provide data analyses to support or inform business decisions. 

Ensure clear documentation of process workflows and work instructions are crafted and maintained ongoing. 

Assist in generating or auditing monthly billing files to be uploaded into SAP for numerous Veterinary Software Products.  

Audit against monthly promotions and adjustments to ensure accuracy of billing against contracts for products and accounts. 

Audit orders not invoiced.  

Other duties as assigned.

Quarterly audits 

Data Management using excel skills in numerous systems. 

Customer facing inquiries as needed. 

What You Need to Succeed: 

2+ years of similar work experience.  

A strong deductive reasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues. Advanced knowledge of excel with strong competency in formulas to manage large sets of data analysis (i.e. complex v or x look up, pivot tables, graphic displays, dashboarding, trending).  

Proficiency in Database management and experience with big data.   

Attention to detail. 

Well organized with the ability to multi-task.  

Solid follow through with limited to no supervision. 

Comfortable with adapting to situations and positively navigating change.  

Process improvement experience and aptitude.  

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues to technical and non-technical users in a professional, positive, friendly and understandable manner. 

High quality customer facing interpersonal skills, with experience working with customers and maintaining good customer relationships. You will have phone skills, with the ability to establish rapport. 

Technical record-keeping management skills. 

Computer skills, including Microsoft Office. 

SAP and SAP reporting knowledge preferred but not required.   

Experience with python or tableau preferred but not required. 

Location: This is a hybrid role based in Maine with 2 days in office.
