Job Description
The Data Center Architect engages and works collaboratively with members of the PDHIS team, program, and project managers in support of the Kamloops Data Centre (KDC) program. They will be responsible for designing, developing, and leading the implementation and migration of functional data centre components to new network system solution(s) in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Lead development for strategy, planning, and migration of the provincial eNG(electronic network gateway) network including configuration of new data centre components, application migrations, and safe component decommissioning of vacated facilities
Lead for infrastructure migration and component refresh planning, data management, and implementation of cloud services
Technical prime with vendors, working with respective technical SMEs to architect and configure 3rd party applications
Technical prime, collaborating with stakeholders responsible for PDHIS Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and Mobility Services. Assists with the development of architecture and configuration of enterprise infrastructure solutions supporting a wide range of vendor applications
Framework design for IT systems supporting data centre operations, recommending the best technical solutions for network and data component migration, expansion, and optimization projects
Coordination with Business and Systems Analysts to architect and implement integrations between corporate solutions
Ensure technical solutions meet business needs
Lead, implement, and deliver effective technical solutions, resolving technical issues and supporting projects to closure
Support Business and System Analysts to translate highly technical specifications into clear non-technical language
Assist business partners, including vendors, with analysis of changes to functional requirements, providing support for managing stakeholder understanding, change planning, implementation, validation and turn-over to functional and operational teams
Documentation for all initiatives to support follow-on organization/team enablement

Skills and Requirements
Minimum of 15 years experience overseeing the development, strategy, and implementation of large enterprize infrastructure systems
Proven experience with data centre migration, facility to facility migration, and migration to cloud services
Demonstrable experience in the creation of operational materials to support knowledge transfer, and follow-on operations post project completion
Broad and extensive understanding/hands-on experience for the implementation and configuration of HPE, Aruba, Cisco, Arista, and Palo Alto network components
Familiarity with trends and the technical evolution of core network component/solutions within/supporting data centre architecture
Extensive digital health, cloud and infrastructure and technical knowledge and experience
Demonstrated capability working on complex IT programs with tight timelines
Experience working collaboratively with subject matter experts and 3rd party vendors in specialized technical fields
Provide technology leading practice and industry insights, based on experience with clients of similar scope and complexity, to help inform the required strategy and roadmap documentation
Act as facilitators to assist PHSA PDHIS Technology Services reach decisions about migration approaches and final end state
Familiarity working remotely, including directing the management of remote vendor and technical specialists engaged in the delivery of program workstreams null
