We are in search of a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our diverse and fast-paced organization. As a core team member, you will be interacting with other disciplines, playing a valuable part in leading and designing power distribution systems for data center facilities. In this role, the qualified individual will be expected to:

Design and engineer low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) power distribution systems for data center facilities.Develop one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams for power distribution systems.Perform short circuit, load flow, arc flash, and coordination studies using software such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.Prepare equipment specifications for switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and PDUs.Evaluate vendor submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.Support the review of shop drawings and submittals to ensure specification compliance.Conduct site visits for data collection, assessments, and commissioning support.Work closely with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.Ensure compliance with industry standards, including NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and local electrical codes.Support project scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessments.Assist in proposal development and technical presentations.Design and integrate fire alarm systems, power, and lighting systems for data center facilities.Understand the concept of consulting engineering and the role of engineers in delivering solutions to clients.Have familiarity with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) design-build projects.Provide design support for IT infrastructure, including IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) and MDF (Main Distribution Frame) electrical support.

What you will bring to the table:

Mid-Level: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) with 4+ years of related experience.Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) with 8+ years of related experience.Strong experience in power distribution design for data centers or mission-critical facilities.Proficiency in power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower).Familiarity with generator backup power, UPS systems, and switchgear design.Ability to perform detailed electrical load calculations and protective relay coordination.Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, etc.).Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).Ability to work both in-office and in the field when required.

It would be nice if you had:

EIT or actively working towards obtaining EITMaster’s degree in a related field.Experience with SCADA, PLC, and building automation systems.Familiarity with data center tier classification and redundancy design.Experience with high-reliability power system design, energy storage, and renewables integration.Knowledge of project management principles and cost estimation.Experience in fire alarm system design, IT infrastructure, and power/lighting design.

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
