The role of the Data Center Energy Marshal is to ensure that the vendors' and contractors' Energy Isolation Programs meet or exceed safety policy requirements. This position involves establishing and managing energy isolation assurance processes, participating in high-risk activity planning, and coordinating energy isolation incident investigations.
ResponsibilitiesUtilize SPS-101 Energy Isolation SPS and Guidebook to implement the Energy Isolation Program.Establish and manage an Energy Isolation assurance process to identify and close gaps.Participate in High Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings related to Energy Isolation.Ensure the approval process for proposed Energy Isolation procedures is in place.Collaborate with the Authorizing Energy Marshal to establish an Energy Isolation Permit process.Review SoWs, MOPs, and identify all sources of energy.Determine the need for group or individual Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and establish a centralized LOTO system.Verify qualifications, training, and PPE of personnel performing energy isolation.Delegate qualified alternates during multi-shift and peak energization times.Liaise with MS Operations where energy isolation activities may impact datacenter operations.Act as a subject matter expert in energy isolation incident investigations.Serve as an independent authority to stop unsafe work practices regarding Energy Isolation.Monitor contractor activities and ensure effective quality control/assurance as per contract specifications.Track quality control documentation using company programs.Essential Skills10+ years of experience in electrical engineering and build experience.Experience in DC construction and commissioning standards and practices.Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to engineers and non-engineers.Ability to audit site practices against written standards.Strong ability to interpret line drawings and system redundancies.Familiarity with multiple sources of energy in datacenters, focusing on electrical.Experience in controlling and executing MOPs for energy isolation.Electrical engineering degree or field experience as an electrician in a commercial space.Master Electrician license.Additional Skills & QualificationsPreferred engineering degree.70E NFPA certification.Understanding of ASTM requirements.Safety expertise with a background in field/management experience.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $67.00/hr.
