Every role at Corteva Agriscience includes an opportunity to grow what matters. **Corteva Agriscience** has an opening for a **Data Center Engineering Lead.** The Data Center Engineering Lead is responsible for overseeing the vision, operations, and transformation of our on-premises data centers and colocation environments. This includes managing power distribution, cooling, equipment deployment, inventories, lifecycle management, and maintenance. The role requires the implementation of data center infrastructure management solutions to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, visibility, and capacity planning. As a subject matter expert, the Data Center Engineering Lead collaborates with internal teams and external partners to promote best practices in data center management, capacity planning, and cost optimization. This role combines technical expertise with strategic oversight and reports to the Infrastructure and Operations Compute Leader. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of deploying and managing data center solutions in large, global, or multi-regional organizations. They must thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly matrixed environment, be comfortable working with ambiguity, and excel at creating operational maturity. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in managing operations and hiring and developing talent. **Primary Responsibilities - How will you help us Grow!** + Data Center Infrastructure Management: Lead the design, implementation, and upkeep of data center infrastructure and systems. Adopt best practices for security, performance optimization, and continuous monitoring. + Troubleshooting and Support: Act as the primary escalation point for intricate data center issues. Provide on-call support to ensure 24/7 system availability and reliability. + Security and Compliance: Develop and enforce robust security policies and procedures to protect data and systems. Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. + Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, hardware placements, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to enhance operational efficiency. + Performance Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for system performance enhancements. Regularly review and upgrade infrastructure to meet evolving business needs. + Hardware Installation: Oversee the installation of various hardware components. Ensure service orders are completed or delegated promptly and accurately. + Operational Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and support for hardware. Address customer requests swiftly and resolve technical issues efficiently. + Coordinated Maintenance Activities: Participate in scheduled maintenance activities involving multiple teams across different locations, adhering to standard procedures to minimize downtime and disruptions. + Strategic Partnerships: Foster and maintain strategic partnerships with product vendors and suppliers to secure necessary equipment and services. Manage effective lifecycle management of data center assets. + Infrastructure Operations: Maintain high levels of security, availability, performance, and scalability in infrastructure operations. Establish and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans regularly. + Team Collaboration: Build strong connections within IT and other interdependent teams. Understand the relationship between infrastructure, information security, and applications/services. + Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with external regulations such as FDA, SOX, and GDPR. Participate in audits as required to maintain regulatory standards. + Cross-functional Partnerships: Develop close partnerships with associated functions within Corteva IT, including Software Development, ERP, Enterprise Architecture, Portfolio and Program Management, and Cybersecurity + Leadership: Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to a global team of highly skilled employees and contingent workers. **Experience and Education – What you'll bring to the table!** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). + Knowledge of data center design and infrastructure principles. + 5+ years of relevant engineering experience managing large-scale services. + 5+ years of relevant experience in DC Operations, IT Operations, or similar roles. + Experience with hardware installation and Tier I/II maintenance and troubleshooting. + Familiarity with data center standards and best practices, including security, inventory, and lifecycle management. + Experience supporting large, enterprise-level data centers. + Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. + Expertise in fiber optic and copper cable installation and testing. + Proficiency in power load management and cooling techniques. + Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment for hardware installation. + Skilled in replacing hardware components (hard drives, DIMMs, batteries, fans, power supplies). + Experience with Dell IDRAC, IBM HMC/ASMI, and HP BIOS. + Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. + Ability to engage with a global team, providing coaching and oversight. + Organizational skills for managing multiple tasks within timeline and budget constraints. + Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly learn and master diverse technologies and techniques. **Other Preferred Qualifications** + Operating in an Infrastructure as Product (IaP) environment. + Experience in project management. + Experience in strategy, customer service, and internal consulting. + Proven success in contributing to a collaborative environment. + Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
