Data Center Service Associate III

Job Description: 

Advanced position requiring detailed knowledge of IT hardware, Networking, and Troubleshooting. Able to accomplish basic to advanced technical and administrative tasks with minimal oversight. Has an advanced understanding of datacenter infrastructure, hardware, and maintenance processes, and can converse at a deep level on these subjects. Experience with coordinating customer requested tasks using phone, email, and a ticketing system. Assumes leadership and supervisor level responsibilities within the team.

Key Job Responsibilities: 

Responsible for executing basic to complex rack-n-stack device installation and cabling within a datacenter environment. Able to assess advanced datacenter issues proactively and correctly formulate a plan to prevent any future downtime or outages. Can diagnose and repair Copper (Rj45) and Fiber (LC/LC, SC/SC) cabling issues using advanced tools such as toners, light readers, and cable tracers. Assist in hardware and network troubleshooting over the phone or email with our Networking, Project Management, and Enterprise Server teams. Able to use a crash cart to correctly configure datacenter devices with advanced IP configuration settings and/or assist with boot repair issues. Able to converse with internal and external customers to devise solutions and resolve issues in a timely manner. Able to perform advanced documentation functions using email, word, excel, and a DCIM. Able to take direction well from supervisors and work as a team player. Able to lead by example in their attitude, communications, and actions. Can coordinate customer driven tasks using a ticketing system like ServiceNow to track and complete tickets assigned to them. Able to assist in training other team members and supervising as a lead when needed. Able to think on your feet to creatively solve issues and address customer needs. Willing to work either a hybrid day/night or a dedicated night shift due to the 24/7 nature of our industry.

Skills Required or Desired: 

3 years or more of live datacenter environment experience required. 3 years of solid IT hardware, Software, and or Networking Understanding gained from working with these concepts in a business environment required. Able to lift 50 lbs required. Previous customer service experience in a direct or related role is a plus. Minimum High School diploma or GED desired. Computer certifications such as Comptia or related work experience desired.
