Description Job Description: Data Center Technician Basic racking/stacking of hardware equipment. Running cable throughout the data center for power connection. Some light troubleshooting involved. Basic level understanding of all data center equipment and Cisco IP architecture. Understanding of Cisco OS and capable of deploying Power (UPS, battery string, etc.), Cooling (HVAC, chiller, CRAC units.) in a raised floor & non-raised floor design & implementation within a data center environment. Experience working with production servers and attention to detail will be essential for this role. Willingness to come in and learn process of Data Center is a must. This role will also involve space planning and hardware installation. Copper and fiber patching installation and infrastructure knowledge. Minimum Required Skills / Competencies: 1-2 years experience in data center facilities operations, working with equipment mentioned above and supporting a critical production data center environment. • Basic level understanding of the relationships between IT systems, processes, and management. • Strong oral & written communication skills. • Organized, self starter. • Ability to lift 80lbs This job requires heavy lifting, use of hands/fingers, moving mechanical parts, some chemicals, occasional exposure to weather, and ear plugs are recommended due to the noise.
