**Position Overview** **Power Your Future with Qualus** as a Data Collection Tech with our Distribution department. The Data Collection Technician role is a dynamic and independent position that involves data entry, daily travel, and distribution equipment inspections. As a tech-savvy professional proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, the candidate will use a smartphone and/or tablet device to conduct visual analyses, capture photographs, and enter data into the mobile device, supporting critical distribution field data collection projects. This role is ideally suited for candidates with previous experience in meter reading or utility work. Situational awareness, map reading, and safety are essential skills, and a background in distribution would be a valuable asset. **Responsibilities** + Complete detailed assessments that are accurate to the field conditions presented. + Accurately record data using correct standards such that the resulting analysis is clear and easily understood by office-based project personnel. + Communicate with the team to ensure consistency and accuracy in data collection procedures. + Utilize smartphones and/or tablets to collect and document relevant data accurately and efficiently. + Utilize GPS software and/or geospatial coordinates to navigate the assigned territory and client sites. + Correctly identify items to be documented in the field with minimal supervisory assistance. + Meets production targets and understands the importance of project deliverables and milestones. + Consistently follow safety protocols and participate in all safety initiatives. + Willingness to assist in power restoration efforts in natural disaster events. + Overnight travel may be required periodically. **Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus. + Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel within the client’s service territory, including periodic overnight stays. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and mobile devices (smartphones/tablets) for accurate data collection and communication. + Familiarity with GPS software and geospatial navigation tools to support field routing and site access. + Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate field assessments and record clear, standardized data. + Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet production targets and project deadlines. + Strong situational awareness and commitment to following safety protocols in diverse field conditions. + Effective communicator, capable of working independently while ensuring coordination with team members, clients, and vendors. + Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and assist in storm response or emergency restoration efforts as needed. **Benefits & Compensation** Qualus benefits offered include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays, for those who qualify.
