Data Commercialization, Product Development (Managing Director)
The team will develop and bring to market products from State Street data to create new value for State Street and its customers. This includes conducting research, ideating for new products, building requirements and roadmaps, working with the Commercial organization to successfully launch new data products, measuring their in-field performance against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and implementing improvement strategies and tactics. The business will procure and maintain appropriate data rights to ensure that we can be successful in our commercialization plans.
We are looking for a Product Development Manager, Managing Director to join our team to drive the development roadmap forward to successfully launch new data products.
The role requires you to manage a team focused on the assessment of available market intelligence (trends, innovations, regulations, market changes), grasping of the technical and functional aspects of the service and stakeholder feedback (clients and coverage/product management) to support the evolution of the business. The role requires you to have the depth and expertise to effectively develop requirements, solutions and work with SMEs to execute on the product development initiatives and agenda described above.
Location: Boston or New York.
Hybrid work: 4 days in the office / 1 day remote
Responsibilities & Tasks:
Define development roadmap for data products, aligning with the key objectives of the business, in collaboration with Data Commercialization Product Development and Management leads.Partner with key business experts across our investment servicing, investment management, markets, Alpha and alternatives businesses—to align unmet client needs with proprietary datasets from which we can develop solutions.Interact with clients and prospects in close coordination with State Street’s coverage and product teams to understand requirements to win and service business.Assist in the design, development, and launch of data products, with a focus on usability, scalability, and competitive differentiation; Translate business requirements and strategies into a meaningful technology product evolution roadmapLead execution of the roadmap through prioritization efforts and stakeholder approvals. Empower the team around them to think beyond specific tasks, understand the goal, and drive value for the businessMaintain and deliver data products, integrating and managing market/vendor data, and monitoring for anomalies, in close coordination with our Global Technology team.Oversee the buildout and testing of use casesOversee the building and testing of product prototypes (data products and proprietary data-driven analytics) in partnership with our Global Technology team.Provide and maintain product specifications and requirements to the technology team.Track KPIs such as customer adoption, retention, feature utilization, and revenue growth to refine product offerings.our product managers are expected to track industry trends and the competitive landscape as they pertain to the productJob Requirements:
Advanced degree in finance or related field preferred.Proven experience in product development; 15+ years in relevant investment, performance, benchmarking, analytics roles preferred.Prior experience of successfully delivering change in a complex environment whilst managing competing environments, and delivering projects using Agile and Waterfall techniques.Strong understanding of public and private markets (private equity, private debt, and venture capital markets data and analytics, including the needs of both LPs and GPs).Familiarity with data product and analytics platform business and delivery models (APIs, interactive portals, subscription models, analytics, etc.).Exceptional project management and cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills; Ability to manage projects across multiple stakeholders, timelines, and key deliverables.Strong technical acumen to collaborate effectively with data engineers, analytics teams and technology professionals.Experience working in a large, complex organization.Excellent analytical skills and strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.Proven people management experience.About State Street

Salary Range:
$170,000 - $267,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
