Data Commercialization, Product Manager (Managing Director)

The team will develop and bring to market products from State Street data to create new value for State Street and its customers. This includes conducting research, ideating for new products,  building requirements and roadmaps, working with the Commercial organization to successfully launch new data products, measuring their in-field performance against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and implementing improvement strategies and tactics. The business will procure and maintain appropriate data rights to ensure that we can be successful in our commercialization plans.

We are looking for a Product Manager, MD to support the execution of our Data Commercialization strategy described above. 

Location: Boston or New York.

Hybrid work: 4 days in the office / 1 day remote

Roles and Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Head of Data Commercialization and development team to build and execute the product strategy including bringing new products to market, prioritization assessment and annual investment processDefine the product definition, standards, pricing and fee schedules for Data Commercialization products. Leads sales process, including discovery, value demonstration, proposal delivery, negotiations, and close, for assigned territory in the fieldOversee and drive key performance metrics (i.e. profitability) of the product set.Partner with the Sales to drive revenue through direct client engagement, pitches and provide commercial propositions to win and service business.Build and maintain relationships with top clients to ensure satisfaction; present and solicit client feedback on product prototypes (data products and proprietary data-driven analytics) in partnership with coverage teams.Provide relevant and critical thought leadership and participate in industry groups to drive market leadership and change.Responsible for ensuring compliance with risk and compliance standards.

Job Requirements:

Strong network among private equity firms, LPs, institutional investors, and consultants.Deep understanding of private markets data and its applications in investment decision-making.Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.Experience with subscription-based revenue models, enterprise sales cycles, and on-boarding clients at a large, regulated financial organization preferred.Experience working in a large, complex organization.Advanced degree in finance or related field preferred.15+ years’ experience in relevant Data Commercialization Product experience, preferably in the financial industry.Prior experience of successfully performing product manager or product development roles.Track record of engagement with complex clients and translating requirements into feature function capability or product offerings for State Street.Strong technical acumen to collaborate effectively with data engineers, analytics teams and technology professionals.Working knowledge of technology, market infrastructures and financial industry partners.Excellent analytical skills and strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.

Salary Range:

$170,000 - $267,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
