GDIT is seeking a Data Cost Modeling Engineer / Solution Expert to join our Strategic Estimation team. The Strategic Estimation Team includes our expert Estimators and our Estimation Practice, where we use data from analogous programs and industry benchmark tools (like SEER) to support creation of Estimates and Basis of Estimates (BOE) for our highest priority and cutting-edge technical opportunities. You will be responsible for data collection, data analysis and leading our efforts to continue to refine our analogous program data and use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and automation to support these efforts. You will work closely with our Luna AI team, and other technology SME’s, in execution of your mission and as a part of OCTO, Office of the Chief Technology Officer of GDIT. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Partner with our estimators and other business stakeholders to understand their data metric needs and translate them into data-driven solutions, centered in AI and Machine LearningProvide data-backed recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and optimize business processes. Measure and track the impact of data-driven initiatives with key performance indicatorsCollaborate with Program, Capture and Solution teams to identify, benchmark and collect relevant estimating metrics in standardized formats, to include automation. Review and analyze collected data metrics, prepare recommendations, reports and visualizationsCreate and use automated scripting tools and workflows to increase speed of metrics collection; lead our efforts to refine data metrics collection and AI tool useCleanse, prepare and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends and anomalies. Utilize statistical techniques and data mining algorithms to extract actionable insights. Develop compelling data visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.Models: Build and deploy predictive models using machine learning techniques (e.g. regression, classification, clustering). Evaluate model performance, iterate on improvements, and ensure model reliability. Collaborate with engineers to integrate models into production systems.Support estimating activities on large and complex proposals, by providing data models, parametric models and analogous metric program data using data analysis, automation and AI toolsResearch industry trends in data metrics analysis and tools and collaborate with others to implement approved recommendationsDevelop and deliver training on use of data metrics and automated estimation toolsWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelor's degree in STEM-related field (IT, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) plus 15+ years of related experience; OR in lieu of degree, an additional 4 years of related experience will be considered.10+ Years Experience in IT Technology – large complex Enterprise IT Solutions (AI, data, data centers, cloud, networks, quantum, etc.), including knowledge of data operating in cloud platforms (AWS, MS Azure, GCP, etc.)Minimum 5+ years’ Data Management - experience related to Data Management or Data Science, including Data analysis and correlation, data management, data mining, schema design, data lakes, metadata use and statistical modelingExperience with Pattern recognition and predictive modeling and correlationExperience with AB Testing, multi-variable analysisExperience with Scripting tools (Python, R, PowerShell, etc.) and with AI tools, and experience with data manipulation tools like SQL or PandasExperience with metrics based estimating methodologiesExcellent leadership and mentorship skills; ability to work collaboratively with others at all levels, contribute to a positive team and company culture, creatively problem solve and thrive on tackling technical IT challengesAt least two technical certifications in a related IT technology field (Security+, Network+, CCSP, CEH, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, Microsoft Technology, Microsoft Power Automate (RPA) Developer, SharePoint, etc.)Strong Oral and written communication, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilitiesMS Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Advanced MS Excel and SharePointAbility to write clearly and precisely and with meticulous attention to detailLocation: Hybrid - Falls Church, VA (role requires on-site Falls Church, VA client/team meetings regularly)US Person requiredPreferred Qualifications:
