Our Team The Amazon Robotics Sortation Analytics team discovers insights in vast and varied robotic data to help our engineering teams understand how their technologies operate across Amazon’s network of warehouses. We collaborate with designers, software and hardware engineers, and operations teams to understand product requirements, make feature trade-offs, design, and operate new applications of Amazon Robotics technology. We conduct relevant, insightful analysis and communicate the results through white papers and presentations. Our methods include design of experiments, statistical modeling, machine learning, financial analysis, and data visualization. Key job responsibilities As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the data architecture components that scales for the ever-evolving data needs. You will solve big data warehousing problems on a large scale. You will apply cloud-based AWS services to solve challenging problems around: big data processing, data warehouse design, and enabling self-service. You will focus on automation and optimization for all areas of DW/ETL maintenance and science model deployments. In addition to the technical skills, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, strong focus on internal customers and professional demeanor and high intellectual curiosity with ability to learn new concepts/frameworks and technology rapidly as changes arise. You will work directly with stakeholders and technical partners to design and implement modern data solutions that provide actionable insights to the business. The successful candidate will have strong data mining and modeling skills and is comfortable facilitating ideation and working from concept through to execution. This role will also build tools and support structures needed to analyze data. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of data engineering experience - 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience - Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing - Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines - Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby - Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions - Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases) Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
