Data Engineer
Responsibilities

The Data Engineer designs, develops, constructs, tests, and maintains architectures including databases, software application data layers, and large-scale processing systems. The Data Engineer role is responsible for, but not limited to, the architecture of data solutions, database, software application data layers, data warehouse and ETL, data reporting technologies, and a wide range of integrated infrastructures.

Develop scalable, efficient data solutions by developing data architectural strategies aligned with enterprise goals. Maintain and guide enterprise-wide data architecture standards to ensure consistency, scalability, and alignment with business objectives, enabling seamless integration across systems and supporting long-term data strategy. Establish performance standards through benchmarking and maintain system reliability through ongoing monitoring and analysis. Develop scalable data models that ensure integrity, support application development, and enable efficient reporting and analytics for business intelligence and decision-making across software and data platforms. Implement automated checks and diagnostics by creating autonomous data validation processes, error checking, and troubleshooting routines. Manage data management standards and procedures to support regulatory compliance and audits. Ensure data security and privacy by implementing role-based access controls, encryption standards, and secure data storage practices in alignment with organizational policies, regulatory compliance, and audits. Design and maintain robust data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools and frameworks to ensure timely and accurate data ingestion from multiple structured and unstructured sources. Optimize database and query performance through indexing, partitioning, and tuning techniques to support high-volume data processing and analytics workloads. Collaborate within an Agile team environment – actively engaging in development and enterprise architecture team events as needed. May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s/Graduate Degree a plus. Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience (minimum 3). Two (2) to four (4) years of programming and database management experience. Cloud Architecture knowledge and experience a plus. Experience with data visualization tools. Two (2) to four (4) years of experience participating in technology projects. Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures. Strong reasoning skills, both logically and creatively. Strong problem solving, analytical, detail orientation, troubleshooting and communication skills (both written and verbal). Must successfully complete all Atria-specified training programs.
