You Are:
UST is searching for Data Engineer who will identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: audit problem causality, indicate component or application improvements, propose better models for recurring problems.
The opportunity:
· Create and maintain an optimal data pipeline architecture.
· Gather large and complex data sets that meet business, functional and non-functional requirements.
· Create analytics tools that use data pipelines to provide actionable information on customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
· Work with stakeholders, including executive teams, product teams, data consumers, to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data consumption needs.
· Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
· Create processes that support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.
What you need:
· Minimum 4 years of experience as a data engineer, degree in computer science, statistics, information systems or other related field.
· Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational and non-relational databases, as well as familiarity with a variety of databases.
· Experience creating and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and “big data” data sets
· Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer for specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Experience and analytical skills related to working with unstructured data sets.
· Experience handling message queues, stream processing and highly scalable data warehouses
· Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
· Strong experience using the following software tools such as.
o Haddop, Spark, Kafka.etc.
o Experience with SQL and NoSQL relational models.
o Experience with Azure Cloud and services such as Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL
o Experience with handling streaming processing systems. Storm, Spark-Streaming
o Experience with object oriented languages Python, Scala, C++, Java, Go.
o Experience with CI/CD Continuous Integrations and Deliveries.
o Experience managing software containers and automation Docker / Kubernetes, Ansible / Puppet.
o Experience in handling data flow and data mining tools such as Airflow, Big Query.
· Experience in agile frameworks.
