Data Engineer
Overview & Responsibilities Job duties are as follows: Collaborate with the team to design and integrate platforms, systems, and data warehouse solutions for robust campaign management, decision execution, and performance monitoring. Contribute to the vision and roadmap for improving analytic capabilities and digitization through the implementation of cutting-edge tools, technologies, enhanced data, and highly integrated systems and processes. Report directly to the Data Lead and interface regularly with senior leaders across the organization. Engage in discussions and negotiations with external partners and vendors in the field of data management, analytics, and machine learning. Work on data architecture, building ETL pipelines, and formulate cloud migration strategies. Write self-explanatory and clean code, focusing on frequent, small releases with predictable results. Conduct peer code reviews and drive technical architecture by understanding requirements. Develop test frameworks, scenarios, and strategies. Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Kafka. Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical field. 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related position, including any experience with: cloud service providers (i.e. Azure), data storage, and analytic services (i.e. Data Lake); creating SSIS/Apache NiFi packages for ETL; Azure Data Factory, SQL, Python/Java, and SOAP/REST Web Services; database design and optimization, versioning, backups, restores, and migration; data security, integrity, and performance tuning; web architecture, object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering methodologies; working in Agile and Extreme Programming methodologies in a continuous deployment environment; web server ecosystems, relational DBMS, TDD, CI tools (i.e. Jenkins, Hudson, and Bamboo), complexity analysis, and performance optimization; server configuration/deployment infrastructure, using source control, bug tracking systems, and writing user stories and technical documentation; Kafka architecture, Kafka connectors, and Kafka Administration; and Snowflake architecture and development.
