Data Engineer
Description Position at SBM Management

SBM is looking for a Data Engineer to join our team! The Data Engineer will play a critical part in designing and implementing data architecture to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support business requirements. Create and optimize databases and data warehouses to ensure data availability, integrity, and performance. Build and manage Microsoft Azure Data Lake solutions for efficient storage and retrieval of large datasets. Implementing data security measures, including encryption, access controls, and auditing, to protect sensitive information. Implement and orchestrate data workflows using Azure Data Factory and other ETL/ELT tools. Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data transformation, analysis, and reporting. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure data solutions align with business needs. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability, accuracy, and performance. Work closely with data analysts and business intelligence teams to enable advanced analytics and reporting capabilities. Ensure data security, compliance, and best practices are followed across all processes. Stay updated on the latest Microsoft data tools and technologies to recommend and implement improvements. Other duties as assigned.Education and/ or ExperienceBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field or related experience. Over 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, specializing in Microsoft data tools and technologies. More than 5 years of hands-on experience in developing database solutions using Azure data services and frameworks to store, transform, and enhance data for analytical purposes. At least 3 years of experience in designing and implementing scalable and secure data processing pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure services.A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing and optimizing data storage with Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure SQL Data Warehouse. 3+ years of experience in ensuring data quality and consistency through processes such as data cleaning, transformation, and integration. Over 5 years of experience working within the full lifecycle of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as part of a software product and operations team environment.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems (e.g., SQL Server). Knowledge of programming languages like Python or C# for data processing is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools.Knowledge of Microsoft big data technologies.

Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, especially Azure.

Understanding of data governance and compliance standards.

Compensation: $$90,000 - $109,000 per year            

Shift: Full time
