**Work Schedule** Standard (Mon-Fri) **Environmental Conditions** Office **Job Description** **Data Engineer** **Primary Job Duty:** Works with product development team of scientists and engineers to design, develop, implement, modify, and maintain software services, data and tools using latest technologies. **Minimum Qualifications:** + A Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience. + 5+ years experience designing and developing interactive scientific or e-commerce software solutions. + 3+ years experience working with server-side technologies like Python, Java, Node.js, etc. + 3+ years of Data Engineering experience working with voluminous data and Big Data tools like Apache Spark and Hadoop. + Extensive working experience with cloud infrastructure like AWS and containerized applications and technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. + Strong working knowledge of Linux systems and network administration and knowledge to be able to get around using command line to perform common tasks. + Experience working with an RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, etc.) with strong focus on PL/SQL and Stored Procedures. + Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, etc.) a plus. + Strong problem solving, web application debugging and troubleshooting skills using latest tools a must. + Experience with Agile Software Development process a plus. + Clear understanding of client-server functionality, web browser technology, object-oriented programming, functional programming, and server-side programming languages. + Excellent communication / documentation skills. + Must be detail oriented and a self-starter. + Multi-tasking with good follow through skills, good communication skills. + Ability to work well in a team environment. + Strong problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills using latest tools and technology. + Ability to work alone and accomplish tasks without supervision.
