Synopsis of the role
At Equifax, the Summer 2025 Data Engineering co-op 15-week co-op program, is a gateway to full-time career paths for current university students who are currently pursuing their Bachelor’s Degree. The program provides meaningful projects with direct impact on our business as well as exposure to senior leaders and opportunities to network.our Data engineering co-ops at Equifax help us shape the future of analytics for the Company. More specifically, they help ensure that our data pipelines are flexible, robust and reliable from end to end. The 15 week co-op program runs from May 6th, 2025 to August 22nd, 2025.
Co ops are required to follow our hybrid onsite policy of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - onsite for the duration of the 15 - week program.
Monday and Friday are remote work days.
Co ops must be local to the Toronto/ Montreal area and have the ability to commute to our office in Toronto / Montreal based on where the role is.
What You’ll do
Contribute actively to existing and new data engineering requests from internal or external clients
Learn and work with our legacy on prem and Cloud-native platforms and services
Help modernize our approach to data acquisition and data management
Be involved with ad-hoc projects
Leverage AI/ML/automation tools and techniques to improve monitoring and data quality and derive unique value
Evaluate new structured and unstructured data assets
What Experience you need
BSc or MSc student in software or computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field
Experience designing and implementing data-driven, technology based solutions
Understanding of agile methodologies including the creation of epics and user stories
Experience with programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, etc.) and SQL
Curious, flexible and highly driven personality
Good written and verbal communications skills
