Hartford Fire Insurance Company in Hartford, CT has the following opening for a Data Engineer. Summary of Duties: Participate in software development lifecycle process in support of continuous data delivery. Develop data assets that support organizational decision-making via prototyping, data discovery, and profiling. Leverage data mining and business intelligence tools. Partner with various parts of the organization to build a working knowledge of the organization, business, processes, and its customers to design end-to-end analytical solutions. The engineer will play a critical role in the enablement of the segment’s data strategy, including the migration of data pipelines to the cloud. Integrate and aggregate complex data from multiple data sources and platforms to enhance customer access to information and promote a data-driven culture. Dedicated and Reliable resource for our Enablement Team where we actively work on critical data enhancements, immediate reporting needs and attain quick resolution on data/dashboard issues. Solve a range of multi-dimensional technical and business questions through data analysis. Work independently and act as a resource for colleagues. Telecommuting available. Qualifications: Position requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field of study; plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or in an Information Technology-related occupation. Position requires 3 years of experience in the following: Python, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, PL/SQL, NoSQL, YARN, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume, Zookeeper, Oozie, Informatica, Unix, Git, Talend, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and Autosys; Databases, including Snowflake, HBase, Cassandra, MS SQL Server 2017, Oracle, and PostgreSQL; Amazon Web Services, including EC2, EMR, S3, AWS Glue, Athena, CloudWatch, Lambda, IAM, and Redshift; Build Tools, including Jenkins, UDeploy, SBT, and Maven; and SDLC, ETL, CICD, and Agile. Salary Range: $129,500 to $146,400 per year. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
